Qualifying
To qualify for women’s Olympic archery, an archer must meet certain criteria set by the World Archery Federation (WA), the governing body for the sport of archery. The specific criteria for qualification vary depending on the year and the particular Olympic Games, but generally include the following:
- National Qualification: Archers must meet the qualifying criteria set by their national governing body and be selected to represent their country at the Olympic Games.
- World Rankings: Archers must achieve a certain ranking in the World Archery Rankings based on their performance in international competitions.
- Minimum Qualification Scores: Archers must achieve a minimum score in international competitions in order to be eligible to compete in the Olympic Games.
- Participation in Qualifying Events: Archers must participate in qualifying events such as the World Archery Championships and other international competitions to demonstrate their ability and competitiveness.
In addition to these criteria, archers must also meet certain eligibility requirements set by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), such as being of a certain age and adhering to the rules of fair play and sportsmanship.
It is important to note that the criteria for qualification for women’s Olympic archery may change from one Olympic cycle to the next and may be subject to revision by the World Archery Federation and the International Olympic Committee.
